My #JustStart project focuses on the SMART goal of applying for at least 3 internships by May 2021 so that I may be able to utilize my summer vacations effectively. I have this goal since this would help me gain hands-on experience in my field and highly improve my resume, through which I am hopeful to get a good paying job before i graduate. I have thought of searching for internships before but procrastination would always take over and i would always end up thinking that i still have a lot of time. However, It’s never too early to start with learning something new, which is why my SMART goal helped me to recognize my goal achievably and through the #JustStart project i was able to jot down, point by point, the steps that i have to take. My first step this week was to build my resume which i was successfully able to do. The only challenge i faced was lack of knowledge as i had no prior experience of building a resume. However, i did my research and constructed my resume. By the time i was done with it, i felt accomplished upon completing a task that i had kept pending for too long. My tasks for the upcoming weeks are: a) Searching for internship offers around me (through Linkedin, Glassdoor etc.) and b) Apply for those internships after shortlisting the ones most relevant to my field.
